Our goal is for everyone who has an interest in the UK’s energy future to engage with us so that we can develop the most rich, robust and plausible range of scenarios possible.

A forward look to the 2019 Future Energy Scenarios

Stakeholder engagement and the feedback that we gather from our stakeholders’ plays a vital role in shaping the Future Energy Scenarios (FES). Engaging with stakeholders across the energy sector and beyond enables us to predict a range of rich, robust and credible scenarios.

During 2018, across all our engagement activities we welcomed over 630 individual stakeholders representing 415 different organisations. Our stakeholder base is changing every year and during 2018 we talked to 235 new organisations from 2017 representing areas of expertise including heat pumps and car manufacturers.

Each year we publish our Stakeholder Feedback Document that sets out our approach to the coming year’s scenarios; how we have engaged with stakeholders and the insights we’ve gathered and how we have taken them forward. This year we have changed the title to make the document more meaningful for stakeholders: ‘A forward look to the 2019 Future Energy Scenarios’.
